This role involves on-call support and maintenance during off-peak hours (late nights, weekends). Our enterprise applications are mission-critical, requiring high availability, so you'll need to be available 24/7, 365 days a year.

About the job

As a Middleware Specialist, you will:
• Provide technical consultation in the operation of all division application systems.
• Consult with and represent the division with internal and external stakeholders.
• Negotiate change management for the development and implementation of new systems as well as walking staff through new processes and performing system assurance and quality checks.
• Estimate project resources such as financial and human resources requirements.
• Provide group leadership to staff by assigning, reviewing and assessing work regularly.
• Provide emergency 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year support requirements.

What you bring to the team


Technical Knowledge

You have:
• Knowledge of infrastructure components such as Azure Cloud, DevOps, Application Gateway, Docker, Kubernetes, Pipelines, Firewalls, Network, and hardware architectures.
• Knowledge of the integration between middleware technology components hosted on the Standard Application Environment (SAE), Photocard, Information Warehouse (IW), and Photo Comparison Technology (PCT).
• Knowledge and experience in mainframe support, including configuring logical units for TN3270E and VTAM environments, managing IMS TM, ISPF, VTAM, and TN3270E, overseeing application transaction pipeline (TPIPE) connectivity, using Endevor, and executing batch jobs with JCL.
• Knowledge and experience in technologies such as Oracle WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, Siebel CRM, Siebel UCM (OCH), BIP, WebSphere BPM, OPA, PKI/DigiCert, WebFOCUS, Informatica, Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Directory Services, Terraform, Ansible, IIS, and Apache.
• Knowledge and experience in the day-to-day operations and support of enterprise systems and servers using industry-standard IT Service Management (ITSM) concepts, including the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
• Knowledge of information technology and engineering principles, including client-server and multi-tier technologies.
• Thorough understanding of system architectures, including technical, data, application, and network architectures.
• Knowledge of advancements in hardware and software products, as well as peripheral equipment, ensuring compatibility with evolving technology trends.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

You have the ability to:
• Prepare reports, briefs, and papers related to systems management and database policies and standards.
• Write performance reports, including assessments of technical specifications and considerations.
• Interact with clients, explain technical solutions clearly, and deliver presentations to both management and technical teams.
• Present and discuss the benefits and drawbacks of proposals related to database and data communication strategies with senior managers, and to encourage support for the recommended approach.
• Discuss systems design with client groups and promote approach which facilitates achievement of information technology objectives.

Problem Solving and Analytical Skills

You have the ability to:
• Review and analyze systems management issues, concerns, and initiatives within cluster application environments.
• Identify and define multi-platform system integration problems, and coordinate complex resolution processes with service providers.
• Coordinate systems management functions by developing technical design features and evaluating alternatives.

Project Management Skills

You have:
• Knowledge of project task planning methodologies to plan, schedule, and implement both application and system releases.
• Ability to negotiate the provision of services or acquisition of hardware/software with vendors, within defined limits.
