About the job
As part of a small but mighty team, you will work with various stakeholders at all levels of the ministry to:
• design and execute marketing and communication plans and strategies
• lead project teams and special projects related to all of NEC's marketing and outreach initiatives
• anticipate contentious issues and develop strategies to manage them
•prepare thoughtful responses and advice for senior leaders in response to contentious issues
• develop a wide range of communication products (such as web content, media Q&As, fact sheets etc.)
• manage NEC's digital presence, including its website and social media channels
What you bring to the team
Communication and relationship-building skills:
You can:
• use oral and written communications skills to provide creative marketing and communications solutions and deliver presentations
• demonstrate interpersonal skills, including consulting, relationship-building, and negotiation skills to influence colleagues, senior management and other stakeholders
• use a variety of common office software to prepare various reports, websites and promotional materials
Planning and project management knowledge
You have knowledge of:
• planning and organizational techniques to plan, prioritize and coordinate multiple, simultaneous projects
• project management techniques to lead medium-sized marketing and communications projects
• leadership techniques to lead teams, influence senior management, colleagues and other stakeholders
Marketing and promotion skills:
You can:
• apply knowledge of branding, marketing and advertising techniques (such as social media, market research, public relations etc.)
• develop, execute and measure marketing and communications plans
• apply communications strategies and tactics to meet client needs
Analytical and problem-solving skills:
You can:
• demonstrate analytical, judgment and problem-solving skills to identify issues, client needs and establish priorities
• apply knowledge of issues management and media relations practices to advise on contentious issues and respond to media inquiries
