About the job
In this role, you will:
• Provide receptionist services
• Prepare a variety of reports and correspondence
• Book physician, specialist and medical test appointments
• Complete applications for health insurance numbers
• Coordinate physician billings
• Prepare reconciliation statements
• Maintain filing systems and other related administrative duties.
What you bring to the team
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
• You have knowledge of office administration procedures and practices, including knowledge of filing systems and related technology
• You can interpret and apply relevant legislation (i.e. Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and the Mental Health Act)
• You understand medical terminology in order to interpret information
• You have knowledge of institution and health care policies regarding the release of medical information
Organizational, Analytical and Reasoning Skills:
• You use your analytical skills to recognize errors (i.e. missing information/documents/signatures, enclosures in out-going mail, scheduling conflicts)
• You are organized and can prioritize a variety of tasks with conflicting deadlines
Communication, Interpersonal and Computer Skill:
• You can prepare and present information in a clear and concise manner
• You use your interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse client group
• You can work independently and as part of a team
• You are proficient with various computer software applications and databases (i.e. MS Office, OTIS)
