Manager, Discovery Harbour Operations!In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the visitor experience at Discovery Harbour. You'll oversee daily operations, capital planning, land management, and visitor services to keep the site safe, sustainable, and engaging yearround. You will also lead maintenance planning, infrastructure improvements, revenue activities, and emergency preparedness.
You will collaborate closely with ministry partners, community organizations, vendors, concessionaires, staff, and senior leaders, helping to move projects forward, foster strong relationships, and deliver highquality public services that reflect Ontario's history and culture.

As Manager, Discovery Harbour Operations, you will:
- provide operational leadership and direction to attraction staff and provide advice/interpretation of legislation and policy matters.
- plan, implement and monitor capital program projects and provide capital development expertise to park leadership.
- coordinate budget submissions and alternate funding sources for various park improvement projects/upgrades of assets.
- maintain strong communication and linkages with other regional parks.
- provide operational and resource management advice to senior management, peers, field staff, partners and clients, on policy and program initiatives and issues.
- oversee the administration of visitor services, retail, food concession and partnership operations within the park programs, including licensing agreements and business partnerships.

Through the stewardship of its historical sites, heritage assets, and natural spaces, Huronia Historical Parks offers unique interactive interpretive experiences and educational programming that make history come to life. We promote a strong tourism sector and prosperity in the region by welcoming visitors from around the world and building partnerships that strengthen its cultural, social, and economic impact. What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
• You must have a valid Ontario class “G” Driver's Licence.
Leadership and People Management
• You bring established experience leading people and teams, with clear accountability for results, performance, and team development. You lead by setting direction, coaching others, and building a culture of trust, inclusion, and high performance.
• You have the ability to inspire, engage, motivate, develop, and mentor staff to deliver strong results through ongoing change and transformation.
• You are a collaborative leader and have incorporated the principles of diversity, inclusion and anti-racism across all elements of your management style.
• You demonstrate good judgement, political acuity and organizational awareness in managing issues and priorities.
Specialized Knowledge and Technical Expertise
• You have knowledge of human resources practices, policies, directives and collective agreements in relation to recruitment, training and development and labour relations.
• You have expertise in project management principles and methodologies to manage the delivery of program plans, initiatives and goals.
• You have knowledge of financial and administrative procedures, to manage and control allocated financial and material resources, including the ability to analyze, interpret and support the development of Return on Investment (ROI) assessments to inform decision making, business cases and capital planning.
• You have knowledge of organization strategic directions, policies, programs and service delivery models, to provide operational management of a program area, service or initiative.
Communication and Relationship Management Skills
• You demonstrate communication, consulting and business relationship skills to develop and maintain relationships with a range of internal and external contacts.
• You have written communication skills to prepare briefing notes, senior official correspondence, unit policies and procedures and documents.
• You are successful in motivating and building relationships with diverse teams of staff at all levels.
