The Ontario Financing Authority (OFA) has an exciting opportunity for a talented Systems Integrator to support data centre operations and infrastructure management within the OFA - the borrowing and debt management agency for the Province of Ontario.

In this role, you will gain hands-on experience across a diverse IT service catalogue, while expanding your skills with a strong focus on IT project delivery.

About the job

As a key member of our team, you'll play a hands-on role in shaping and modernizing our technology environment. You'll lead complex initiatives, solve meaningful problems, and make a visible impact across the organization. In this role, you will:

• lead high-impact technology projects from end to end, including digital modernization initiatives across on-premises and cloud environments—assessing needs, recommending solutions, managing change, and troubleshooting complex issues
• provide senior level technical expertise by researching and evaluating emerging technologies, performing cost-benefit and options analyses, and developing specifications for software, hardware, and IT solutions
• design and implement infrastructure solutions supporting server upgrades, consolidation, virtualization, email services, mobility, secure remote access, and broader networking requirements
• build and maintain clear, effective technical documentation, including architecture designs and build, test, and implementation materials
• collaborate closely with senior technical staff and vendors, analyzing and resolving complex technical challenges
• apply risk management best practices to proactively identify and mitigate system risks, develop response protocols, and lead resolution efforts during critical incidents

Technical knowledge and skills:

You have the ability to:
• forecast infrastructure demand and performance; design solutions to optimize capacity and reliability; recommend upgrades
• build, deploy, manage, and support highly available enterprise server and infrastructure environments across multiple sites and cloud platforms
• create clear technical documentation for designs, builds, changes, and operational procedures
• provide technical leadership for complex platforms by setting direction, defining standards, and guiding design and delivery

You have knowledge of and experience with:
• Microsoft Azure infrastructure/platform/software as a service (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS)
• Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework
• Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365
• multi-platform, multi-operating-system, and multi-site integration; network technologies; security concepts; data recovery; communication protocols; desktop technologies
• IP networking, firewall, and application delivery technologies (Cisco, Palo Alto, Citrix NetScaler)
• cybersecurity concepts and tools, including vulnerability management, endpoint detection and response, and SIEM (Qualys, CrowdStrike, Splunk)
• VMware and Hyper-V virtualization; Active Directory; clustering; Group Policy; Certificate Services; Citrix; VPN/ZTNA secure remote access
• current and emerging I&IT trends; security and contingency principles; operational methods; hardware and software platforms; networks; databases; applications; infrastructure services; testing and implementation methodologies

Analytical and problem solving skills:

You can:
• evaluate new and emerging solutions based on technology fit, risk, and business value
• research emerging technologies and assess organizational needs
• identify gaps in technical specifications, documentation, configurations, and services, and recommend practical improvements
• troubleshoot issues, determine root causes, and resolve incidents
• monitor platform performance, identify improvements, and oversee implementation
• assess the impact of changes on existing services and infrastructure to maintain performance and reliability
• review solution designs for technical quality, consistency, and standards compliance
• apply security and risk-management best practices throughout design, deployment, and operations

Leadership and project management skills:

You can:
• lead and mentor technical project teams to deliver project objectives
• plan work, manage competing priorities, and meet timelines
• apply project management and ITIL practices across the project life cycle

Communication and interpersonal skills:

You can:
• build effective working relationships and collaborate across teams and vendors
• communicate technical information clearly, including options and recommendations, to diverse audiences
• produce and maintain clear technical documentation (e.g., procedures, operating instructions, plans, reports, training materials, and standards recommendations)
• work independently, prioritize effectively, and follow through with minimal supervision
