Ontario Creates is seeking a dynamic Production Consultant to drive the growth of Ontario's vibrant film and television sector. With your extensive industry knowledge and marketing expertise, you will promote Ontario as a premier destination for film and television production. Your role will involve crafting innovative marketing strategies, fostering strategic partnerships, and connecting local talent with global opportunities, ensuring Ontario remains a leader in this creative industry.

You will represent Ontario at major industry events, build relationships with domestic and international stakeholders, and provide top-tier consultation services. Your ability to analyze trends, resolve challenges, and identify growth opportunities will be essential in supporting the economic development of Ontario's film and television sector. About us
Ontario Creates is an agency of the provincial government whose mandate is to be a catalyst for economic development, investment and collaboration in Ontario's creative industries, including the music, book, magazine, film, television and interactive digital media sectors, both domestically and internationally. This position sits within the Ontario Film Commission, which promotes the province as a preferred destination for film and television investment, offers production consulting services, and leads capacity growth initiatives.

This competition will be used to fill one (1) Production Consultant vacancy. The position will focus on production investment initiatives and the delivery of the Ontario Green Screen initiative, Ontario's environmental sustainability program for the film and television sector.

About the job

As the Production Consultant , you will:
• Foster lasting relationships with industry stakeholders, producers, community organizations, and government partners at home and abroad to advance sector growth
• Lead capacity-building initiatives that facilitate workforce development and infrastructure development
• Implement marketing plans, tools and programs that promote the province's film and television industry
• Collect and analyze economic impact data
• Provide and administer environmental services to producers that help attract and retain production
• Coordinate the Ontario Green Screen Advisory committee and program management team

What you bring to the team


Industry knowledge and marketing skills

You can demonstrate:
• an understanding of business and industrial development theories and practices, and how promotion of the film and television sector can drive economic development
• an ability to implement marketing plans, tools, and programs to promote Ontario's film and television production industry
• an ability to learn and understand Ontario Creates' directions, program guidelines, tax credits, and the rules and regulations impacting production in Ontario and Canada
• an ability to coordinate Ontario's presence at markets and trade fairs
• an ability to provide marketing assistance and strategies based on industry trends
• knowledge of best practices, tools and resources that will help productions implement environmentally sustainable production action on set.

Analytical and problem-solving skills

You can demonstrate an ability to:
• resolve problems and complaints between producers and provincial/municipal officers using conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
• identify and implement opportunities to promote Ontario's film and television industries
• analyze industry trends and markets, and identify potential marketing and promotional partnerships
• resolve problems and complaints regarding the use of locations

Relationship building and networking skills

You can demonstrate an ability to:
• initiate, develop, and strengthen relationships with key domestic and international stakeholders
• build marketing and promotional linkages, partnerships, and cooperative business efforts
• represent Ontario Creates on committees and at official functions

Communication and consultation skills

You can demonstrate:
• an ability to provide consultative services regarding Ontario Creates programs and services
• knowledge of location facilitation services and advice on industry trends to coordinate location scouting trips and familiarization tours
• written communication skills to prepare marketing and promotional material, briefing reports, and correspondence
