About the job
As a Senior Project Consultant, you will provide strategic project management supporting capital delivery and operational readiness for expansion initiatives that increase adult corrections capacity. This role offers opportunities to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and senior stakeholders on complex, fast paced projects with direct exposure to institutional environments across Ontario..
In this role, you will:
• lead and project manage the development, support, and implementation of project deliverables
• conduct analysis related to correctional systems, operations and long term institutional needs
• act as a liaison with ministry senior leadership and multiple justice stakeholders
• provide strategic advice on complex, confidential and politically sensitive issues
• lead and support communication strategies related to the justice system
• contribute to operational and infrastructure improvements of all scales with tangible impact across the province
Please note: Alternate work locations may be considered in Hamilton, Peterborough, Guelph, Owen Sound, Sault Ste. Marie, and Barrie, based on operational feasibility and management discretion.
What you bring to the team
Project management leadership
You have:
• experience leading complex, multi stakeholder projects from planning through implementation
• ability to identify risks, assess impacts and implement corrective or contingency actions
• skill in coordinating project teams and ensuring deliverables are achieved
Relationship management and communication skills
You have:
• expertise in building relationships with ministries, justice partners and external agencies
• ability to manage sensitive conversations and align diverse stakeholder interests
• experience producing clear presentations, reports and briefing notes
• skill in delivering concise briefings on complex issues to senior leaders
Technical knowledge
You have:
• understanding of the justice and correctional environment, including ministry stakeholders and institutional operational contexts
• knowledge of or ability to learn capital delivery models and governance processes within the OPS, including coordination with central agencies and delivery partners
• demonstrated experience with complex capital or infrastructure projects through multiple phases, including planning, approvals, delivery, and operational readiness.
• knowledge of or ability to learn legislation, policies and OPS decision making frameworks
Analytical and research skills
You have:
• ability to assess qualitative and quantitative data, including statistical analysis
• skill in identifying trends, risks, emerging operational needs and potential issues
• ability to develop innovative, evidence based solutions in sensitive or unique situations
• experience monitoring project risks, issues, and dependencies, and escalating matters appropriately through established governance channels
