The Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration's Settlement and Diversity Unit seeks a results-oriented bilingual individual with program development and stakeholder relations skills and experience to facilitate the settlement and integration of newcomers to Ontario.

About the job

You will: implement and coordinate the delivery of grant programs; evaluate funding applications; recommend funding; monitor a portfolio of grants; provide consultative services in English and French to client groups and stakeholders; work proactively with sector stakeholders including partners, other levels of government, funders and community organizations to advance ministry interests and sector issues; lead projects and develop strategies to achieve program/policy objectives; represent the ministry at inter-ministerial and inter-governmental forums; prepare briefing notes, reports and presentations for senior management; research and analyze program data and social and community trends and demographic data; serve as an adviser on a range of newcomer settlement issues.

Mandatory requirements

proficiency in English and advanced level of oral and written French; extensive knowledge of and experience with program development and evaluation; strong research, analytical and evaluation skills; strong project management/planning and problem-solving skills; thorough knowledge of immigration and settlement issues and trends, related provincial and federal programs, and ability to interpret and apply legislation; advanced oral and written communication and presentation skills; strong negotiation, interpersonal and stakeholder relations skills; computer skills including proficiency with standard office software.
