About the job
In this role, you will:
• retrieve, review and index legal orders and conduct comparisons with computerized tracking systems;
• initiate amendments to OTIS/YOTIS (Offender/Youth Offender Tracking Information Systems) when required;
• ensure all information entered on the CPIC (Canadian Police Information Centre) system is accurate and supported by legal orders;
• monitor and respond to requests to police and other law enforcement agencies, and advise police when subjects of interest are in Solicitor General custody;
• review and conduct analysis on transaction reports received from CPIC;
• respond to enquiries regarding clients and offenders;
• monitor and review business processes and identify issues and trends;
• collect and compile statistical reports for management.
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
• Keyboarding skills to 40 wpm
• This position requires the ability to work 12 hour shifts (days/nights), within a 7 day work week, 365 day per year (including weekends and holidays)
Technical Knowledge and Computer Skills:
• You have working knowledge of various database operating systems including CPIC , OTIS and YOTIS to conduct queries, retrieve, review and assess data and produce statistical reports.
• You are proficient in using various software programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel to produce various written communications.
• You have data entry skills to retrieve and input data.
• You have knowledge of CPIC procedures, policies and terminology and the geography of Ontario.
Analytical, Research and Problem Solving Skills:
• You have analytical, research and problem solving skills.
• You can interpret CPIC information and determine appropriate course of action.
• You can assess and determine cause of errors.
• You can search, verify and maintain information and provide recommendations.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
• You have oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• You can receive and respond to requests.
• You can enter information received by telephone, fax, email or in person.
Organizational Skills:
• You have organizational skills to assess workload and determine priorities.
• You can meet deadlines while working in a fast paced environment.
