About the job
Working in the
Provincial Communication Unit as a Communication Operator, you will:
• Monitor staff safety and support emergency response
• Answer phone and radio calls from staff and the public
• Gather important details and record information clearly
• Enter and update data in real time using multiple systems
• Search databases (e.g. Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) database and Niche Records Management System (RMS) to support enforcement work
• Create and maintain accurate call and incident records
• Share timely information with officers and partner agencies
• Provide information about: enforcement activities, licences and permits, wildlife-related incidents, and safety alerts and updates
Working conditions• This role involves shift work, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Shifts may vary (8–12 hours)
• You may be asked to work overtime or short-notice shifts
• Work is completed on-site
