About the job
You will:
• provide advice to Local Roads Boards and other stakeholders related to ministry accounting requirements
• conduct audits on records and track expenditures and revenues
• prepare expenditure and budget statements
• monitor and process invoices
What you bring to the team
Technical skills
You have:
• knowledge of financial systems and procedures to assist in the financial administration of Local Roads Boards and 50/50 Maintenance Agreements.
Financial skills
You have:
• sound financial background to provide advice, instructions regarding financial procedures
• ability to prepare spreadsheets and costing summaries, monitor and maintain accurate and timely financial records and process invoices received
• ability to verify accuracy and eligibility for payment
• proven skills to carry out audits as well as explain financial procedures, invoicing or when collecting funds
People skills
You possess:
• excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work within a team environment
• ability to respond clearly, concisely and effectively to a variety of internal and external clients, prepare letters, reports, budgets, forms
General skills
You have:
• excellent organizational skills to plan work effectively and efficiently, set priorities and work with minimal supervision
• excellent knowledge of computers and software such as Word, Excel and financial systems to process financial data and prepare statistical reports and letters
