  • Manage the delivery of a comprehensive maintenance services program, including long- and short-term, annual, and seasonal planning.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve maintenance standards, policies, procedures, and quality criteria.
  • Lead the planning and execution of capital and rehabilitation projects, including defining scope, cost estimates, and resource requirements.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of fire and life safety systems and core building services, including HVAC, plumbing, and septic systems.
  • Direct infrastructure diagnostics, repair, and rehabilitation activities across 57 heritage and modern structures on a 250-acre site.
  • Manage a multi-disciplinary team delivering maintenance, groundskeeping, and site security operations, while ensuring financial, material, and human resources are in place.

Meet the General Manager: Patrick Morash

Patrick has more than 30 years of experience in the public service and believes in an open and collaborative leadership approach. The management team at FWHP is small but mighty and is actively engaged in all operational and strategic aspects of the park. Patrick supports and encourages an innovative approach to ensure that the park remains a vital piece of the cultural tourism economy in Ontario. In addition, Patrick values diversity, welcomes feedback and constructive input and places significant emphasis on building relationships in the community and especially with our Indigenous neighbours and partners.

Major Attractions, Parks and Operations Division (MAPOD) has responsibility for agency relations, governance, operating and capital funding for agencies and attractions within the ministry's portfolio.

About Fort William Historical Park:

Situated in Thunder Bay, on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg of Anemki Wajiw, Fort William Historical Park brings early 19th-century (1803 to 1821) fur trade history to life. Spanning over 250 acres, the park features a living history museum, campground, conference facilities, and immersive programs and exhibits for visitors of all ages. It serves as an education and cultural hub, hosting events, workshops, and reenactments that bring life to history.

  • Regulations & Industry Knowledge: Understanding of applicable legislation, codes, and standards, as well as maintenance-related equipment, products, materials, methods, costs, and industry best practices.

  • Problem Solving & Decision-Making: Identifies complex issues, analyzes options, and develops practical solutions to support effective program and operational delivery.
