About the job
In this job, you will:
• Providing leadership and expertise in support of the contract management of province-wide agreements with health care providers, and institutions
• Developing and negotiating agreements with health care providers and institutions
• Designing and implementing new initiatives, and developing or advising on solutions to complex contract management and program design issues
• Participating on internal and external committees with outside agencies
• Leading special projects such as the design and implementation of new initiatives within the unit and the coordination of special functions
What you bring to the team
Project Management Skills
You have:
• project planning and project management skills to plan and manage special projects and initiatives
• the ability to lead and coordinate complex projects from planning through implementation, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and objectives are achieved
• the ability to develop project plans, track progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to support successful outcomes
Business Planning and Technical Knowledge
You have:
• knowledge of business and financial planning to plan, analyze and develop program funding requirements
• knowledge of the healthcare industry and healthcare delivery models
• knowledge or experience working with specialist contracts to lead the development and negotiation of accountability agreements and contracts
Analytical and Problem Solving Skills
You use:
• analytical, research and problem-solving skills, to identify and resolve complex issues with contracts
• evaluation skills to assess and make recommendations on the effectiveness of existing programs
• negotiation skills to understand, interpret and apply complex policies, agreements and legislation
• analytical skills to analyze situations and develop innovative solutions
• data systems to conduct research and gather information
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
You can:
• use strong communication skills to create and navigate effective relationships with diverse stakeholders
• effectively assess situations requiring diplomacy and tact, while demonstrating political acuity
• use written communication skills to develop reports, briefings and correspondence on complex and contentious health care and related matters
• use negotiation skills to lead/conduct negotiations with providers and stakeholders
• use standard office software to prepare own materials (e.g. reports, briefings, presentations)
