The Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, Ontario Provincial Police, is looking for a well organized self-starter to provide a range of graphic design services including design concepts, layout and production of print and web-ready graphic products.
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
Knowledge of graphic design concepts, web layout and design, usability, accessibility design and word processing and graphics applications to produce web-ready graphics and animation. Knowledge of PC-based software including Microsoft Office products, desktop publishing and graphic design software (Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat & Photoshop), In-Design, Fiery printer server and HTML, CSS, limited Java Script and Flash Action Script to create print and web-ready graphic products and interactive web pages. Knowledge of calibration of colour scales, operating a digital and photo imagery system and maintaining an electronic database of images; working knowledge of offset print, multiple colour print processes and digital print processes. Interpersonal and communication skills to gather information from clients, discuss and negotiate site objectives, requirements and limitations, discuss options, prepare design plans and correspondence and to present concepts and recommendations to clients and managers. Work in a close-knit, self-directed team environment. Research, proof reading and analytical skills to assess sources of information and develop viable, practical graphic design solutions. Organizational skills to prioritize and multitask within deadlines. Must pass OPP background security investigation.
