•provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation services by interpreting English into the target language, and from the target language into English in complex, fast-paced proceedings
•ensure that the meaning, feeling and intent of the original and often technical words of testimony spoken are accurately transmitted, without distortion, omissions or additions

Language and Interpretation:
You have:
•superior proficiency in and knowledge of English and target language (Tamil, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish or Russian )
•knowledge of and sensitivity to the target culture and language
•superior knowledge of and ability to work with various interpretation techniques and methodologies
•ability to interpret and translate in real time, simultaneously or consecutively in target language
Court Systems Knowledge:
You have:
•knowledge of legal and related terminology
•ability to apply knowledge of court systems and protocols to provide court interpretation services using correct grammar, spelling and sentence structure and ensure accurate rendering of legal terms and ideas
Strong Organizational Skills to:
•work under pressure and work effectively within competing priorities with variable scheduling demands and deadlines
•ensure delivery of professional interpretation services to all levels of courts
•work independently with minimal supervision
•provide interpretation / translation in real time, consecutively or simultaneously
Quality Service and Interpersonal Skills to:
•acquire and understand government quality service standards
•to build effective working relationships
•provide a full professional level of interpretation for all levels of court
•provide client service by maintaining the confidence of those for whom interpretation is provided
•work cooperatively with a team, stakeholders, court officials and legal counsel
Communication, Research, Analytical and Evaluative skills to:
•communicate tactfully in English and target language
•ensure meaning, intent and feeling of origination statements are conveyed
•identify language problems impacting on interpretation and understanding and ensure confidentiality
•research terminology of a variety of industry terms and subjects
•use judgement when dealing with ethical issues
