About the job
• coordinate evaluation, statistical activities and reports for senior management and central agencies
• support the development of the ministry's strategic plan
• monitor the achievement of defined goals, objectives and deliverables
• support the ministry's research contracts and project management capacity
• support the coordination of federal, provincial and territorial justice sector relations for the National Justice Statistics initiative
• develop performance measures and customer satisfaction surveys
• act as a team leader to other staff
What you bring to the team
Technical Knowledge:
• you have knowledge of project management, program evaluation techniques and social science research methodologies to provide leadership for research projects and provide expert advice to senior management
• you have the ability to acquire and understand government and justice sector issues and priorities relevant to research and evaluation
Research and Analytical Skills:
• you have knowledge of a range of research, analytical and statistical methodologies to conduct and coordinate research studies
• you have excellent analytical and conceptual skills to interpret findings, assess implications and make recommendations
Communication and Stakeholder Management:
• you have the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders to negotiate and resolve issues
• you have excellent communication and presentation skills to prepare and oversee the preparation of reports, presentations, briefing material and option papers
• you have the ability to translate complex information to common language
Computer Proficiency
• you have knowledge of PC based software including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Visio, Acrobat, Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and NVIVO (qualitative data analysis software) to conduct research studies
