About the job

As Office Manager, you will:

• administer the financial and business affairs of the Monteith Complex in accordance with the Ontario Public Service and ministry policies and guidelines
• administer the institution's budget
• maintain accounting, purchasing, stores and clerical functions
• provide financial recording and reporting services for the institution
• provide control and security for assets of the facility
• provide advice and guidance on administrative and financial matters
• supervise all offender record keeping functions
• ensure the delivery of effective personnel and payroll services for staff
• provide administrative and technical supervision to staff

What you bring to the team


Mandatory requirement:

• You possess oral French language skills at the advanced level.

Specific knowledge and experience:

• You have knowledge of financial and budgetary principles, practices and controls as well as providing financial recording and reporting services.
• You have experience developing, administering and monitoring a budget.
• You are able to apply acts, legislation and regulations such as the Ministry of Correctional Services Act, collective agreements, Criminal Code, and Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Leadership skills:

• You have well developed management and supervisory skills.
• You have effective team building skills and can motivate your team to achieve results.
• You have experience providing administrative and technical supervision to staff and determining work priorities.

Communication/relationship management skills:

• You have experience building and maintaining relationships with all levels of staff.
• You can communicate clearly and effectively with the facility's Superintendent and managers to provide advice on the best use of financial, material and administrative resources.
