About the job
Elections Ontario is seeking 1 Election Clerk for the electoral district of Scarborough-Guildwood to provide administrative and operational support to the local Returning Officer as they prepare and administer elections, by-elections or referendum events in accordance with the Election Act.

• a Canadian citizen; and
• at least 18 years of age; and
• familiar with the communities and boundaries of the electoral district
Knowledge and Skills
The Election Clerk will possess demonstrated skills in organization and administration and financial and human resources management, and be technically proficient with a variety of software programs. Also required are excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership and supervisory skills, tact and ability to maintain confidentiality and familiarity with the Election Act.
Election Clerks are remunerated in accordance with the fees set by the Chief Electoral Officer. Current fees are approximately $10,360 for the 28-day election period and incumbents will be required to work consecutive twelve (12) hour days for the duration of this period. Incumbents may also be required to work additional hours for special assignments in the pre-event and post-event activities on an as-needed basis. An hourly rate will be paid for these assignments.
