About the job

You will:
• conduct economic and trade policy research and analysis
• identify policy options
• review developments in trade negotiations and disputes
• prepare cabinet submissions, policy papers, briefing materials, reports and correspondence
• participate in federal/provincial meetings and conduct consultations

What you bring to the team


Technical Knowledge

You have:
• demonstrated knowledge and understanding of international and interprovincial trade agreements, trade negotiations and trade dispute resolution processes
• sound knowledge of Ontario's economy and current trade, economic and other major policy issues

Policy Planning, Research, Analytical and Problem Solving Skills

• you have proven policy planning, research, interpreting, analyzing and problem-solving skills to identify key policy issues and options
• you can provide support to senior government officials

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

• you have well-developed oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work prepare cabinet submissions, policy papers, briefing materials and correspondence to the Minister
• you have ability to present findings
• you can work effectively in a team environment

Organizational Skills

• you have proven organizational skills to prioritize and complete assignments in a fast paced, high pressure environment

Computer Skills

• you have proficiency using computer software such as the MS Office Suite
• you have proven ability to use computerized data/information sources for research purposes
