Please note: There is one Group 3 Seasonal - up to 9 months (April to November) position at each Park.

About the job

In this role:
• You will perform a variety of administrative, financial and clerical tasks to support the Park Superintendent and a multi-disciplinary parks team;
• You will prepare correspondence, assist in the preparation of revenue forecasts and work plans, and monitor the budget and expenditures;
• You will assist with day-to-day group leadership of park attendants;
• You will create correspondence, schedules, reports and use various computerized systems to ensure continual operation of the park;
• You will provide customer service to internal and external clients.

What you bring to the team


Mandatory requirements

• You must possess a valid driver's licence to travel throughout the park and to carry out park duties;
• You must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Emergency First Aid Certificate.

Technical knowledge:

• You have knowledge/ability in administrative processes, protocols, and procedures;
• Knowledge of Ontario Parks programs/services;
• You have knowledge of computers and software such as word processing programs, spreadsheets, databases, electronic mail and the internet;
• You have knowledge of budgeting, work planning and mathematical/cash handling practices;
• You have an understanding and experience working with electronic and manual filing systems.

Interpersonal and communication skills:

• You have proven interpersonal skills, tact, discretion and judgement to deal effectively with public, ministry officials and staff;
• You have demonstrated communication skills;
• Demonstrated written/oral communication skills;
• You have ability to work with minimal supervision and under pressure while maintaining high levels of accuracy;
• Demonstrated customer service skills;
• Ability to assist in training staff in park operations.

Leadership and organizational skills:

• You have the ability to provide group leadership/training to seasonal and summer staff;
• You have skills to organize work, set priorities and complete work in a timely/efficient manner.
