About the job

You will:
• monitor, evaluate and promote the health, safety, comfort and rights of residents in long-term care homes
• ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies
• provide consultation regarding service improvements
• prepare correspondence and comprehensive reports

What you bring to the team


Mandatory Requirements:

• You must possess a current certificate of competence as a Registered Nurse from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• You must possess a valid driver's license with the minimum class of G or equivalent as recognized by the Province of Ontario.
• You must be able to travel extensively throughout the Province and to work irregular hours

Health Care Knowledge and Experience:

• You demonstrate in-depth knowledge of and experience in long-term or health care home operations and investigation.
• You have knowledge of and ability to understand, interpret and apply relevant acts pertaining to long-term care homes to ensure compliance

Leadership, Communication, Problem-Solving and Negotiation Skills:

• You possess strong leadership skills.
• You have excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• You possess problem-solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills to foster cooperation and resolve sensitive issues

Analytical Skills and Judgement:

• You are able to work independently.
• You have the ability to exercise initiative and demonstrate sound clinical judgment.
• You possess knowledge and experience in conducting inspections.
• You have well developed analytical skills
