About the job
While providing technical and administrative support to Operational Service Office, Operations Offices and additional offices, you will:
• plan, coordinate and administer contracts
• coordinate utility relocations
• provide technical and administrative support to ensure contract delivery
What you bring to the team
Mandatory:
• You have a valid driver's license to conduct field work and to travel to remote areas
Technical Knowledge:
• You have demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles relating to construction, maintenance, road design and utility relocation for the preparation/administration/acceptance of Regional tenders and contracts
• You have knowledge of relevant legislation and policies pertaining to the preparation of tenders, contract administration and contract payments
• Knowledge of construction safety methods and practices
Analytical decision-making and communication skills:
• You have proven analytical, evaluation and decision making skills to assess alternatives and recommend solutions, and the ability to provide direction to field personal, contractors, utility company representatives and ministry agents
• You have proven communication and interpersonal skills to use tact and diplomacy when interacting with clients other office personal
Technical skills:
• You have the ability to read and interpret contract documents and plans
• You have demonstrated knowledge of financial reporting procedures to maintain records, track budgets and forecast expenditures
• You have the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and acts to provide advice
Other skills:
• You have computer skills and proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and email software
• You have demonstrated planning, organizational and prioritization skills
