About the job

In this position, you will:

• Provide leadership in comprehensive research, analysis and development of IM strategic and operational policies, initiatives, and standards, as well as in the review of legislation and regulations relating to health information privacy.
• Lead and contribute to concurrent IM projects and work teams; participate on corporate committees and work groups; develop and provide strategic advice on a range of complex IM and ehealth policy priorities.
• Prepare a range of strategy / policy-related presentations, papers, briefing materials, and correspondence for senior management.

What you bring to the team


Policy Development and Research Expertise:

•You understand the role of strategy and policy in the development of legislation and regulations.
•You have thorough knowledge of policy methods and research tools, performance management methodologies and metrics.
• You are experienced in developing policy frameworks, strategic policies and processes.

Communication, Presentation and Relationship Management Skills:

• You have proven negotiation, facilitation, communications and presentation skills.
• You can prepare and present complex research analyses, detailed policy frameworks and options, briefing papers, and speaking notes.
• You have demonstrated political acuity and relationship management skills.

Healthcare System and Information Management Knowledge:

• You understand the importance of privacy protection in the health care system, and have strong knowledge of privacy legislation and IM principles.
• You have knowledge of health care system trends including models of delivery, funding, governance and related critical issues.

Leadership, Problem-Solving:

• You can provide project planning and leadership on concurrent policy development projects.
• You can lead the development and delivery of strategic policy deliverables and advice to senior ministry management.
• You have strategic thinking and problem solving skills.

Computer Skills:

• You can prepare a variety of materials using office software applications, and use the Internet as a research tool.
