About the job
The Ontario Science Centre's Science Experience Branch needs you to develop exhibit components, from concept to final drawings of functional and artistic merit for our new upcoming exhibition: The Human Edge. Working as part of an interdisciplinary project team, you will create the design theme or aesthetic direction consistent with the overall design plan and concept of the exhibit; offer creative / innovative design and materials options.
What you bring to the team
Knowlege and Skills:
Demonstrated experience in the use of industrial exhibition design form and function, colour and matching; experience applying design theories, principles, techniques and methods to produce custom interactive and static exhibits and exhibit components; knowledge of accepted industry practices for fabrication/production; excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with other staff members involved with exhibit development, internal clients and counterparts to explain technical issues in readily understood terms; knowledge of mathematical concepts in order to take precise measurements and to calculate volume and area for spatial elements, layouts and materials estimates; planning and coordination skills to ensure availability of materials for own work activities and to organize work processes to meet schedules and delivery times; proficiency with specialized industry design tools and software.
