About the job

In this position you will:

• Provide leadership to multi-disciplinary staff within a team environment.
• Be accountable for a large program budget.
• Develop and implement strategic and operational plans.
• Provide leadership with the development of program deliveries and diverse activities.
• Represent the ministry with internal and external stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with system and community partners to improve awareness and compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Employment Standards Act.

LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT SKILLS:

• You have demonstrated proven managerial and leadership skills.
• You have knowledge and experience with human resource management including recruitment, training, performance management and applying collective agreements.
• You have the ability to promote effective team dynamics.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:

• You have demonstrated expertise/experience in program service delivery.
• You have skills/experience in investigation/enforcement techniques including dealing with compliance with legislation.
• You have knowledge of financial and administrative procedures, processes and systems.
• You have knowledge and understanding of the employment environment, the occupational health and safety environment and of current trends and issues.

COMMUNICATION AND PEOPLE SKILLS:

• You have proven communication skills to connect and inspire staff

Position requires frequent travel to remote work locations and a valid driver's licence is required for the position.
