The Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, Ontario Provincial Police, has a challenging opportunity for eight well organized, motivated individuals to provide court liaison services for our Orillia Detachment. You will be working on an irregular, on-call basis.

What you bring to the team


Mandatory requirements

knowledge of Criminal Code, Youth Criminal Justice Act and other federal and provincial legislation to negotiate disposition of by-law, criminal/provincial offence charges, coordinate briefs, attendance, documentation and subpoena witnesses at court; knowledge of policing policies/procedures related to court proceedings/documentation to coordinate detachment activities at court, escort prisoners, ensure continuity and maintain control of drugs; oral/written communication and interpersonal skills to deal with legal professionals at all levels, and compose information and briefs; organizational skills to coordinate detachment issues in various courts and maintain records of court documents, briefs and exhibits; analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills to review documents, determine requirements and carry out the safe escort of prisoners to and from jail; ability to obtain and maintain Special Constable Designation; ability to pass OPP background security investigation.
