About the job
In this role, you will:
• Provide project management leadership and expertise on complex, priority projects;
• Advise senior management and project teams on project management tools, methodologies, and best practices;
• Provide hands-on project management support on key health care transofrmational projects;
• Communicate with project teams to obtain project status updates;
• Brief the senior ministry executives on the progress of ministry projects;
• Lead project management training programs for ministry staff.
What you bring to the team
Project Management Knowledge and Skills:
• You know project management principles, theories, best practices, standards, techniques, and tools;
• You have experience leading large, complex, and multi-disciplinary or cross-divisional projects;
• You can develop, implement, and evaluate strategies to strengthen the ministry's project management capacity;
• You can advise clients on strategies and techniques to manage project scope, quality, risks, and resources.
Communication, Leadership, and Relationship Management Skills:
• You can develop and maintain business relationships across the ministry;
• You can develop best practice tools, templates and guidelines, project reports, presentation materials, issues and briefing materials;
• You know adult education techniques to develop and deliver training and learning sessions related to project management;
• You can provide leadership and expertise to project teams.
Healthcare Knowledge:
• You understand the healthcare sector, delivery systems and administration in Ontario;
• You can acquire knowledge of public administration principles, practices and procedures.
Research, Analytical, and Risk Management Skills:
• You can conduct quality control of projects and develop mitigation and contingency plans;
• You can conduct ongoing research of best practices, emerging trends and developments in project management.
Computer Skills:
• You are proficient in common software applications (i.e., MS Office, databases, internet, intranet);
• You can use project management softwares (i.e., MS Project).
