About the job

In these unique and challenging roles, you would:
• provide leadership and supervision to a team within this large park as you deliver the Ministry of Natural Resource's mandate of ecological sustainability
• plan, coordinate, direct and evaluate park operations
• plan, prepare and administer a program budget
• provide leadership on human resources activities (e.g. selection, training and evaluation of staff, assigning work schedules, managing performance, etc.)
• provide leadership in the delivery of quality customer service to park guests

What you bring to the team


Mandatory Requirements:

• you have the ability to be designated as a Park Warden
• you hold a valid Ontario class ‘G' driver's license or equivalent as recognized by the province of Ontario
• you are able to work shifts, weekends and holidays

Knowledge of park management, operations and maintenance:

• knowledge of resource management principles related to park management, operations and planning
• knowledge of concession operations and retail store management to lead the concessions programs
• knowledge of visitor registration, parks enforcement and maintenance principals and operations
• knowledge of service contracts and supply management

Other important skills:

• ability to supervise staff, conduct recruitment and selection processes, take disciplinary action, conduct performance appraisals and identify training needs
• ability to interpret and apply related policies, procedures, acts, regulations and legislation in the areas of environmental protection, staff supervision, financial administration, park enforcement and health and safety
• strong organizational skills and good oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
