About the job
As a Nurse in a correctional facility, you will work on an assigned shift to provide diversified nursing services.
You will:
. conduct health assessments
. provide emergency intervention
. dispense medication
. liaise with other professionals and correctional staff
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements:
. You must have a current registration as a Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Nursing skills:
. You are knowledgeable in nursing theories and practices.
. You are able to interpret and apply relevant legislation.
. You have effective assessment, reasoning, judgment and analytical skills.
. You can identify and evaluate health care issues and determine appropriate treatment.
Communication skills:
. You use your communication and counselling skills to deal effectively with staff and clients.
. You are able to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and work with a diverse client group.
. You can use a computer to prepare reports and input and retrieve offender information.
