About the job
• respond to inquiries in person, by telephone and in writing
• plan customized travel itineraries and respond to consumer and travel industry requests
• research information from a variety of sources
• represent the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation at special interest groups and tourist association presentations and showcases
• update publications and assist in the planning and delivery of training programs
• maintain reference files, complete inventory stocking and monitoring as well as handle retail sales functions
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
• Must be able to work shift work/evenings, weekends and holidays
• Proficiency in both French and English, oral and written, at the advanced level
Skills
• You have highly developed travel counselling, promotion and customer service skills
• You have analytical, problem-solving and judgment skills to determine suitable solutions to meet client needs and to work in a high pressure team environment;
• You have good communication skills to provide travel information to clients in person or over the phone and to prepare reports and edit tourism publications
• You are able to utilize computer software applications and internet resources for research of travel information; cash handling and reporting skills
Knowledge
• You have thorough knowledge of and experience in the promotion of the tourism industry, products, agencies, attractions and destinations
• You are able to monitor, recognize and report building maintenance or security issues
