Work Description:
• Respond to information research and reference queries; assist library users in the use of library resources
• Catalogue and process materials using an automated library system following established protocols
• Assist in a library digitization project, sorting and preparing documents for scanning; updating in-house database
• Assist with the day to day operations of the library, i.e., book and periodical circulation, check-ins and shelving
• Plan, organize, coordinate and manage daily assigned work

Qualification Requirements:
Communication and Interpersonal skills
• You respond to client inquires ‘in person' and by phone and email using your customer service, oral and written communication skills
• You apply your written communication skills to prepare a variety of documents (e.g. reports, document findings, record data)
• You apply your initiative and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
Technical Skills and Knowledge
• You have familiarity or experience with library computer applications e.g., Sydney Plus; InMagic DB/Textworks library catalogue software.
• You apply your experience using Microsoft Office product suite, such as word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), databases; email and Internet to conduct research and prepare a variety of documents
Analytical and Organizational Skills
• You research, compile, synthesize and summarize information
• You apply knowledge of library and information organization and management principles and practices to perform a variety of library and information management activities e.g. classification, cataloguing, maintaining bibliographic databases etc.
• You work independently or as part of a team; you plan, organize and prioritize your time to meet competing deadlines
