Work Description:

• Assist staff in the restoration, rehabilitation, and protection of conservation lands
• Participate in field work including inspections, site visits to conduct surveys, collect data, restoration activities, and mapping exercises
• Provide technical assistance to support on a variety of land resource improvement projects
• Support staff in providing administrative assistance and clerical services to ensure effective and efficient operations

Qualification Requirements

Communications and Interpersonal Skills
• You apply your written communication skills to prepare a variety of documents (e.g. reports, record/summarize data findings)
• You apply your interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team environment

Technical and Analytical Skills and Knowledge
• You apply your knowledge and experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) such as ESRI ArcGIS suite to conduct data and trend analysis, including spatial trend, quantitative, qualitative, and statistical analysis, and conduct environmental scan
• You apply your experience using Microsoft Office product suite, such as word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), databases; email and internet to conduct research and prepare a variety of documents
• Basic knowledge of aggregate resources management and natural resource management principals particularly as they relate to public land, shorelines

Planning and Organizational Skills
• You apply your planning and organizational skills to collect, organize, review and verify information/data through review of files, reports, and prepare simple maps; track, compile information/data
• You work independently or as part of a team; you plan, organize and prioritize your work to meet competing deadlines

Other Requirements
• You can work in an outdoor environment with some physical activity involved, including lifting and carrying weighted items (up to 40 lbs) in accordance with the Employment Standards Act and Workplace Health and Safety regulations
