We are seeking Senior Policy Advisors to join our team and provide innovative policy analysis and advice regarding pension benefits standards policy.
About the job
In this role, you will:
• support pension reform in Ontario by developing policy options and assessing policy proposals
• build a network of pension contacts in the public and private sectors
• interact with a variety of stakeholders
• participate in the Ontario budget process
• prepare briefing notes and discussion papers for senior management and make presentations where required
What you bring to the team
Technical Expertise:
• You have experience interpreting and applying knowledge of the Ontario Pension Benefits Act, pension legislation in other jurisdictions, and other relevant federal and provincial legislation which governs employment pension plans
• You have relevant experience in economics, public and/or business administration, finance, actuarial science, law or related field
• You have knowledge of public sector structures and policy processes
Research, Analytical and Computer Skills:
• You have demonstrated quantitative analysis and research skills
• You have knowledge of research techniques applicable to pension issues, actuarial estimates and retirement savings data
• You have experience with microcomputer programs and applications
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
• You have demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
• You are able to develop and maintain contacts in public and private sectors
• You have experience developing high quality and well organized presentations
Negotiation and Time Management Skills:
• You have demonstrated negotiation and time management skills
• You have experience completing complex tasks within tight deadlines
• You have experience working on various projects with colleagues across divisions

As a result of the recently agreed to AMAPCEO collective agreement, a new job evaluation system will be implemented on October 1, 2013. In the new job evaluation system, the classification level of this position is Level 7 with a salary range of $75,000.00 - $105,740.00
