About the job
Work Description:
• Assist senior cook with day to day food preparation, serving, and cleaning for approximately 40 staff. E.g. basic food preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, sweeping floors, washing dishes, recycling, unpacking deliveries.
• Prepare food list requirements and ensure supply orders are correct
• Assist with ensuring food is properly cooked and distributed on time
• Assist with offering alternative meals to individuals with special dietary needs
• Maintain the cookery in a clean and orderly fashion
• Assist with cooking and preparing foods appropriate to the program in accordance with Canada's Health Food Guide
• Position requires lifting and carrying weighted items in accordance with the Employment Standards Act and Workplace Health and Safety regulations

• Ability to work in an Kitchen environment with some physical activity involved, including lifting and carrying weighted items in accordance with the Employment Standards Act and Workplace Health and Safety regulations
• Ability and comfort in operating small equipment such as: dish washer and cleaning equipment.
