The Ministry of Labour is seeking a highly motivated bilingual individual to provide effective administrative support services to the Alternate Chair and Vice Chairs of the Ontario Labour Relations Board.

About the job

You will:
• provide secretarial and administrative services to the Alternate Chair and Vice-Chairs of the Ontario Labour Relations Board
• prepare Board decisions and maintain Board decision data in the case management system

What you bring to the team


Mandatory:

• You are proficient in English as well as in oral and written French at the superior level

Computer Skills:

• You have proficiency with computer software and strong keyboarding skills to prepare standard legal decisions within strict timelines
• You have a thorough understanding of the functions of, and ability to, accurately enter and query data in the case management system

Communication Skills:

• You have demonstrated written and oral communication skills with the ability to use grammar and proofreading skills to ensure accuracy of decisions

Organizational and Administrative Skills:

• You can manage a diverse workload, establish priorities, and meet deadlines
• You have the ability to work independently in a team environment with minimal supervision

Analytical, Judgement, and Research Skills:

• You can determine and resolve issues from brief instructions
• You can research legal information as it relates to arbitration cases, precedents, and citations for correct inclusion in Board decisions

• You have knowledge and ability to understand legal terminology
• You have demonstrated ability to take initiative in managing sensitive and confidential issues
