About the job

Use your skills to maintain electrical equipment, controls and systems and operate and maintain water and/or wastewater projects within the Ottawa Valley Hub.

What you bring to the team


Mandatory requirements

• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in the electrical trade and certification by the Ministry of Colleges & Universities.
• Class 2 certification in Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment, Wastewater Collection and Class 1 Water Distribution.
• Minimum Operator-in-Training (OIT), as specified in O.Reg. 128/04 of the Safe Drinking Water Act and O.Reg. 129/04 of the Ontario Water Resources Act.
• Valid Class ‘G' Driver's License.
• Must be available to be on-call after regular working hours.

Knowledge:

• Experience in performing maintenance and repair of electrical equipment in an industrial type environment analysis and troubleshooting of PLC programs.
• Experience with SCADA systems and controls devices.
• Good working knowledge of tools and test equipment.
• Basic understanding of water and sewage treatment or any other similar type process.

Skills and Ability include:

• Ability to work from plans and schematic diagrams.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Analyze and troubleshoot PLC programs.
