In this role, you will:
• conduct economic, statistical and quantitative research and analysis
• create quantitative models and computer simulations that estimate economic impacts of government programs and tax policies
• manage projects and provide leadership to junior staff
• convey quantitative issues and analysis in presentations and briefing materials to senior management
• develop and maintain a network of contacts with internal and external stakeholders
What you bring to the team
Technical Expertise:
• You have demonstrated knowledge and experience in economics, finance, statistics or a related discipline
• You understand the issues related to competitiveness, personal and corporate taxes, commodity taxes, pension and income support programs
Quantitative Research and Statistical Analysis Skills:
• You have demonstrated experience with econometric analysis, including multiple linear and non-linear regression, limited dependent and qualitative variable, neural-network and non-parametric regression models
• You have demonstrated quantitative research and statistical analysis skills to support policy development related to commodity taxes, pensions and income support programs
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
• You have proven oral and written communication skills
• You can convey quantitative issues and analysis in presentations and briefing materials to senior management
• You have interpersonal skills to work in a team and to provide leadership to junior staff
• You are able to develop and maintain contacts in the public and private sectors
Project Management Skills:
• You have project management skills to consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• You are able to manage multiple issues, keep them moving forward and propose quantitative solutions
Computer Modelling Skills:

As a result of the recently agreed to AMAPCEO collective agreement, a new job evaluation system will be implemented on October 1, 2013. In the new job evaluation system, the classification level of this position is Level 6 with a salary range of $69,680.00 - $99,600.00
