Do you have strong project management skills? The Ministry of Government Services, Infrastructure Technology Services (ITS) is looking for highly skilled IT professionals to manage large scale, highly complex, high profile and high risk projects for ITS initiatives across the province.
About the job
You will:
• manage all phases of large scale, complex IT projects
• lead organizational and strategy development, business planning and Ministry funding requests
• ensure project deliverables meet client business requirements on time, within scope and budget and follow OPS project management methodologies and frameworks
• develop communication plans for internal and external stakeholders
• manage large project budgets to ensure a high level of fiscal control and accountability
• provide technical leadership and expertise in risk and issues management and in implementing best practices
• participate in steering committees and stakeholder forums
What you bring to the team
Project Management Knowledge:
• you have strong knowledge I&IT project management standards, techniques and methodologies (e.g. Project Management Institute), ITIL, and industry best practices
• you have demonstrated experience managing all phases of large scale, complex IT projects across a range of enterprise technologies
• you have experience developing project charters, creating and managing integrated project plans
• you have knowledge and experience with Program Portfolio and Project Management tools (e.g. MS Project, Clarity or equivalents)
Technical Knowledge:
• you have a strong understanding of financial and controllership management to develop and manage large project budgets
• you have knowledge of procurement to support policies and practices of software solutions, hardware and services
• you have resource management skills to determine the resources required for delivery of projects
Leadership and Interpersonal Skills:
• you have experience providing technical expertise and developing/managing project plans, budgets and resources successfully
• you have interpersonal, negotiation, collaboration and communication skills to build effective project teams and develop client relationships
