About the job
You will:
• plan, lead and conduct complex I&IT audits and consulting assignments
• assess internal controls and processes in the areas of IT governance, systems under development, IT project management, IT operations and information, infrastructure and network security
• provide technical expertise and support on major systems development projects including the development, use and evaluation of risk management and control strategies
• prepare reports and communicate audit findings

What you bring to the team
Technical Knowledge and Experience
You have:
• demonstrated experience conducting a broad range of complex I&IT audits and consulting engagements
• knowledge of and experience in generally accepted auditing standards, practices, methodologies (including the application of the latest I&IT governance and risk management frameworks and value-for-money auditing techniques)
• experience in developing and utilizing innovative I&IT auditing techniques for data analysis, risk and control assessments
• knowledge and experience in systems development methodologies and practices
• an understanding of current and emerging technology and related issues to utilize knowledge in the areas of systems under development, legacy system modernization, data migration, information security, emerging technologies, business intelligence, e-commerce, cloud computing and telecommunications network infrastructure
Project Management Skills
You have:
• experience leading and conducting assessments of complex business processes and IT operations
• experience in conducting and managing complex I&IT audit projects
• the ability to adapt to changing priorities and circumstances, handle concurrent projects, meet deadlines and manage projects within budget
Relationship Management, Consultation and Negotiation Skills
You have:
• relationship management skills to build and sustain positive relationships with colleagues, clients, system development teams, and ministry management
• consultation skills to provide technical expertise and support on major systems development projects and to present senior management with significant risk and control issues
• negotiation skills to negotiate recommendations and action plans with clients for complex audit projects
Communication Skills
You can:
• apply oral communication skills in conducting briefings and presentations with all levels of management
• apply demonstrated written communication skills to produce audit reports, briefing materials, and correspondence that is clear, concise and effectively synthesizes issues and persuasively communicates important findings to clients
Analytical and Problem Solving Skills
You can:
• apply analytical skills and utilize data extraction software tools to evaluate internal controls, identify control weaknesses, risks and impacts
• apply problem solving skills to identify strategic issues, process improvement and cost saving opportunities and provide practical options and solutions for clients

As a result of the recently agreed to AMAPCEO collective agreement, a new job evaluation system will be implemented on October 1, 2013. In the new job evaluation system, the classification level of this position is Level 6 with a salary range of $69,680.00 - $99,600.00.
