About the job
The Corporate Policy and Public Affairs Branch of the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO), requires a results-oriented individual to provide advice and project coordination on strategies, policy options and program development. You will conduct research, analyze and develop legislation, regulations, policies, and guidelines regulated by FSCO; carry out policy projects directed by senior staff and assist in policy studies and special projects; produce materials to inform stakeholders of corporate policies and processes; play a key supportive and training role in the preparation and development of Ministry of Finance requested house book notes.
What you bring to the team
Knowledge and Skills
Advanced policy research experience, analysis and development; knowledge of the legislative process in Ontario and the regulatory legislation governed by FSCO; experience preparing briefing/house notes or similar experience preparing complex and sensitive briefing material; knowledge of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act; strong project management skills including the ability to manage multiple projects excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; strong interpersonal, oral and written communication and presentation skills; demonstrated computer skills with knowledge/skills in the use of word processing, spreadsheets and other database software applications. Group leadership experience with the ability to be an effective team member, lead multiple projects and the ability to lead team work.
NOTE: As a result of the recently agreed to AMAPCEO collective agreement, a new job evaluation system will be implemented on October 1, 2013 and the job code identified in this posting is subject to revision; in the new job evaluation system, the classification level of this position has not yet been determined.
