The Geographic Information Branch is looking for an innovative, highly motivated person to provide support relating to internal and external communication and marketing programs and activities for the Geographic Information Branch (GIB) and Land Information Ontario (LIO).

About the job

You will:
• Assist in marketing the specialized knowledge, functions, products and services of the branch;
• Assist with compiling communications products (for internal and external clients), liaising with various MNR and OPS staff as well as external partners and stakeholders; and
• Assist with developing and delivering client services as well as conduct marketing to support Geographic Information Branch (GIB) and Land Information Ontario (LIO).

What you bring to the team


Mandatory requirements

• Proof of eligibility to work in Canada;
• Proof of full-time enrolment in a recognized post-secondary college or university or graduation within the last five years; and
• Candidates are only eligible to participate in a maximum of two placements.

Knowledge

Your demonstrated knowledge will include:

• Strategic marketing and communications planning theory and techniques in order to contribute to the development and evaluation of marketing and communications plans.
• Use of tools such as website design (content creation and layout), desktop publishing, print production, multimedia, social media and special event planning/facilitation.
• Research, analytical and organizational theories and practices in order to assist with marketing and communications support

Skills and Abilities

Your skills and abilities will include:

• Excellent written and oral communications skills in order to assist with the creation of a variety of material for GIB/LIO program initiatives and projects.
• Interpersonal skills in order to work with internal staff and external consultants.
• Use of computers, computer software and social media to assist in the development and implementation of marketing and communication products.

Note: The successful candidate will begin at the base-level pay rate and will move up in the pay scale in accordance with the OPSEU collective agreement.
