Successful candidates will be cross trained and may be assigned to shifts at either location.

About the job

As a Nurse, you will:

• conduct health assessments
• provide emergency intervention
• dispense medication
• liaise with other professionals and correctional staff

These positions are irregularly-scheduled, on-call for 0 - 40 hrs per week with no guaranteed minimum number of hours.

What you bring to the team


Mandatory requirements:

• You must have a current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Registered Practical Nurses will not be considered).
• You must be able to work within a flexible schedule to accommodate rotating shifts, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Nursing skills:

• You have an understanding of nursing theories and practices.
• You are able to interpret and apply relevant legislation.
• You have effective assessment, reasoning, judgment and analytical skills.
• You can identify and evaluate health care issues and determine appropriate treatment.

Communication and Interpersonal skills:

• You use your communication and counselling skills to deal effectively with staff and clients.
• You are able to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and work with a diverse client group.
• You can use a computer to prepare reports and input and retrieve offender information.
