About the job

As a member of the branch management team, you will:

- manage, plan and coordinate a full range of strategic facilities accommodation management services to meet the needs of the clients;

- manage and direct the staff of the Facilities Management Services unit, including responsibility for human and financial resources, budget accountability, performance reviews, coaching, mentoring and employee relations in a culture of excellence and teamwork;

- ensure the accommodation strategy and programs delivered adhere to directives, government priorities, policies and guidelines;

- plan, develop and implement the ministry's strategic accommodation and space management plan;

- provide technical expertise, advice and consultation to clients in planning, coordinating and implementing of facilities accommodation projects;

- maintain an effective, collaborative working relationship with corporate service providers.

What you bring to the team


Technical Knowledge and Expertise

- you have knowledge and experience in facilities management principles, policies, standards, legislation and building codes to ensure facilities projects comply to defined requirements;

- you have knowledge of current and emerging trends to ensure innovative strategic planning of services and programs;

- you have knowledge of financial and human resources procedures, processes and systems to manage staff and unit budget.

Leadership & Relationship Management Skills

- you are able to lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team delivering a full range of strategic facilities accommodation management services;

- you have strong project management, relationship management, political acuity, facilitation, negotiation and teamwork skills to oversee all phases of large-scale concurrent process.

Other Essential Skills

- you have strong organizational, analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills to resolve issues related to facilities and accommodation project management;

- you have excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills to explain complex concepts to senior management and build mutually beneficial working relationships with staff, clients and stakeholders.
