About the job
In this role you will:
-lead and ensure implementation of District Programs including: information management, communications, preparation of resource management plans, approval processes for proposed development and other projects to achieve ecological sustainability;
-work in accordance with overall provincial policy, strategic, land use and resources management plans;
-participate in district, ministry, inter-ministry and external to OPS committees and partnerships;
-manage, coach and mentor all staff.

• You have experience preparing correspondence, internal briefing notes and reports and products to promote sustainable resource management.
• You have experience building and maintaining relationships across the organization as well as with external partners such as resource users and aboriginal communities.
• You have good judgement, political acuity to deal with highly visible, complex and politically sensitive issues.
Program Delivery Experience:
• You have demonstrated ability to interpret and apply resource management-related policies and legislation, ensuring compliance.
• You have proven analytical, issues management, and problem-solving skills to identify and rectify problems in program delivery.
• You have knowledge and understanding of policy and program planning, analysis, and development techniques and methods.
• You have proven project management skills.
Knowledge/Technical Skills:
• You have thorough knowledge of the theory, principles and practices of resource and ecosystem planning and management.
• You have applied knowledge and understanding of GIS and data management practices and standards.
• You have knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations concerning health and safety.
