We are looking for a highly-motivated individual to plan, implement, and supervise the delivery of investigative and enforcement program activities for the West Central Region office.
About the job
You will:
• Assess reports and determine if an investigation is warranted
• Review and approve application of investigative tools such as search warrants, court orders, etc.
• Monitor, evaluate, and implement consistent program delivery in the region
• Conduct regular reviews of investigators' work and ensure compliance
• Supervise staff and manage operating costs
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
• Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence
Environmental and Investigative Knowledge
• You know and can apply relevant environmental legislation (e.g. Environmental Protection Act, Environmental Assessment Act, etc.)
• You can interpret and apply knowledge of government program, policy, and evaluation processes
• You can appropriately apply knowledge of investigative techniques and technology
• You are able to train investigative staff and supervise complex investigations
Communication and Relationship-Management Skills
• You can convey technical information to a non-technical audience in a clear manner
• You know how to draft a variety of written materials (e.g. correspondence, reports, briefings, etc.)
• You can develop effective working relationships with staff and colleagues
• You exercise good judgment when making decisions that impact staff and program delivery
Knowledge of Human Resources and Financial Processes
• You have the ability to interpret and apply policies, practices and procedures, collective agreements, relevant legislation and guidelines associated with human resources management
• You can interpret and apply fiscal and procurement practices, policies, and procedures
