About the job

Join our team of Science Educators and bring your enthusiasm, creativity and knowledge of informal science and technology education to the Ontario Science Centre. You will take a lead in: presenting, researching, and developing innovative, engaging curriculum-correlated science and technology programs/workshops for school groups from Kindergarten to Grade 12; write, edit and produce support materials for teachers that connects to film, exhibit and other OSC program offerings; provide presentations/workshops to various audiences such as Early Childhood Educators, pre-service teachers and practicing teachers; work as a member of a team in supporting the successful and consistent delivery of school programs.

What you bring to the team


Knowledge and Skills

Qualified candidates will have excellent communication and presentation skills. Demonstrated theoretical and practical knowledge of one or more of: biology, biochemistry, physics, space science and chemistry. Familiarity with the Ontario science curricula Grades K-12. Experience developing creative, interactive, educational programs and in training others on presenting the program. Excellent organizational and time management skills; strong research and computer skills; experience working with learning simulations, information technology, and students of all ages; flexible presenting style (able to meet the needs of the individual classes); excellent customer service skills and commitment to visitor care; ability to work well independently and in a team environment; a current Standard First Aid certification, including Child CPR, prior to presenting science education programs. Candidates may be required to work some evenings and weekends.
