About the job
You will:
• provide a full range of administrative secretarial services
• utilize a personal computer to transcribe a variety of documents in proper legal style
• accept service on various documents
• maintain Ontario and Superior Court files
• type Ontario and Superior Court subpoenas
• provide reception duties by answering the telephone and dealing with inquiries at the counter
• provide a variety of clerical services
What you bring to the team
Mandatory:
• you can type 50 words per minute with dicta skills at 70% using a personal computer with standard software
Legal Secretarial Knowledge:
• you have demonstrated secretarial and administrative experience including knowledge of office procedures
• you have working knowledge of legal terminology and the practices and procedures of the criminal justice system
General Administrative Skills:
• you have the ability to use computer equipment with related software such as Windows, Word, Outlook and related database applications
• you have excellent oral and written communication skills
• you have demonstrated initiative, good judgement and excellent organizational skills
• you have interpersonal skills and experience working effectively as a team member with minimal supervision
