The Financial Analysis and Accountability Branch is responsible for large-scale grant administration to school boards and child care recipients, business reporting requirements, audit, policy and financial analysis, and the consolidation of results into provincial financial statements and public accounts.
We are looking for a Senior Analyst to provide advice on the financial accountability and audit services, conduct complex financial analyses and make recommendations to support the development of policies, best practices, procedures and performance measures for the sector.

• recommend improvements to financial management systems and operational procedures
• provide consulting advice, interpretation and resolution strategies to senior management
What you bring to the team
Technical expertise:
You have:
• knowledge of principles and practices of accounting, financial planning, reporting, control, analysis and risk assessment
• knowledge of accepted audit standards and practices
• knowledge of and experience interpreting funding legislation, and leading and participating in grants design, data modelling exercises, projections and forecasting
Research and analytical skills:
You have:
• research and analytical skills to conduct financial, policy and audit assessments and evaluate client needs and recommend best practices
Communication, consultation and stakeholder relations skills:
You have:
• communication, presentation and negotiation skills to prepare comprehensive financial, project and audit reports, briefing notes, and issues analysis
• consultative and stakeholder relations skills to explain complex financial information and discuss solutions with stakeholders

As a result of the recently agreed to AMAPCEO collective agreement, a new job evaluation system will be implemented on October 1, 2013. In the new job evaluation system, the classification level of this position is Level 6 with a salary range of $69,680.00 - $99,600.00
