The Contract Management Office of the Ministry of Transportation is offering a challenging opportunity to be part of the team that provides advice, sets business processes and maintains all aspects of the procurement and acquisition of Engineering services (Highway Planning, Design and Construction Contract Administration contracts).
If you are highly motivated with excellent organizational, customer service and analytical skills, consider this opportunity to support both internal and external clients of the ministry's Registry, Appraisals and Qualification System (RAQS) by responding to inquiries and providing program information.
About the job
In this role, you will:
• Be the primary Help Desk operator that provides support and guidance to ministry staff and external consultants on procurement business processes;
• Compile and analyze data to produce a variety of reports that support the office function;
• Provide administration, maintenance and support of current and future procurement systems, applications and business processes;
• Coordinate analyses of incidents to resolve problems through on-going liaison with clients and stakeholders;
• Monitor the use of systems/applications to identify, investigate and resolve issues;
• Develop, maintain, and deliver training, user documentation, process mapping and communication materials;
• Develop test scenarios and perform quality assurance testing of systems and applications enhancements prior to their release to the user community;
• Provide analysis and recommendations for best business practices and acquisition strategies.

Solid Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
• You have communication skills to prepare technical reports and provide telephone assistance at the Help Desk.
• You have interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders to provide timely and appropriate responses.
Proven Analytical, Research and Problem Solving Skills:
• You have analytical and research skills to investigate problems, identify the impact on ministry procurement systems and prepare reports and statistics.
• You have problem solving skills to identify and investigate problems with systems and applications.
Demonstrated Technical Knowledge:
• You have knowledge of procurement processes and systems to provide technical expertise, training, business process support and advice to users.
• You have solid knowledge of various computer software applications including spreadsheets, word processing and data bases.
