About the job
You will:
• receive case specific items and documents
• organize and maintain storage areas, such as freezers and refrigerators
• pack items for shipping or for disposal
• maintain continuity records
• enter data and retrieve data from the Laboratory Information Management System
• collect, clean, dry and sterilize glassware
• prepare sample collection tubes
• handle bio-hazardous material in accordance with universal precautions
What you bring to the team
Laboratory and skills:
You have:
• laboratory skills to receive, handle, store, ship and dispose of items.
• knowledge of the procedure for cleaning, drying and sterilizing laboratory glassware
• knowledge of requirements for the continuity of items and proper exhibit handling to maintain integrity of items and avoid contamination
• knowledge of specialized laboratory information management systems
• knowledge of universal health and safety precautions
Other Essential skills:
• You have interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with staff members and clients and to respond to requests
• You have computer skills using email, word processing, databases and spreadsheet software
• You have reasoning skills to work independently, to make decisions and to consult procedural manuals
